Under the direction of the Malthouse or Elevator Supervisor the Operator performs grain handling and processing duties to standard process requirements and operational instructions related to grain handling activities.
MALTEHOUSE ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Monitor and analyze daily production indicators with a view to increased efficiency.
2. Collect and Analyze vessel samples for processing operation and repair or report necessary problems to your supervisor.
3. Complete Preventative maintenance on equipment associated with the job.
4. Report all equipment malfunctions and problems to your supervisor.
5. Main clean barley to "day" bins for processing.
6. Start and monitor grain transfers from one vessel to the other.
7. Cleaning, washing and sanitizing of all process vessels.
8. Shoveling and sweeping of grain.
9. Washing down equipment and grounds with a high pressure washer or process water.
10. Emptying Garbage cans and dumpsters.
11. Measure wet malt, dry malt and barley for moisture and protein levels. Measure Day Bins and Malt analysis bins as necessary.
12. Collect samples of barley and malt from different areas throughout the plant.
13. Run and monitor grain transfers, report any problems to your supervisor.
14. Sanitation of facilities and items as required.
ELEVATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Monitor and analyze daily production indicators with a view to increased efficiency.
2. Analyze samples for proper equipment operation and repair or report necessary repairs to your supervisor.
3. Complete Preventative maintenance on equipment associated with the job.
4. Report all equipment malfunctions and problems to your supervisor.
5. Main clean barley to "day" bins for processing.
6. Start and monitor malt cleaning/deculmming and blending operations to storage silo's.
7. Unload barley cars and trucks through scalping operations to storage.
8. Shoveling and sweeping of grain.
9. Washing down equipment and grounds with a high pressure washer.
10. Emptying Garbage cans and dumpsters.
11. Measure malt, barley and byproduct bins for feet empty.
12. Collect samples of barley and malt from cleaning and grading machines.
13. Analyze unload and shipment samples for compliance to company standards and report any problem areas to your supervisor.
14. Run and monitor shipping blends for customer requirements.
15. Sanitation of facilities and items as required.
16. Maintain high level of competency with production transactions in SAP.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED:
The employee must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and a hard hat. A full face respirator may be required when working in some in manufacturing areas.
